EMPTY CUP LED-Lit Channel Letters in Winnipeg

June 11, 2026

Some storefront signs need extensive adaptation to work effectively in the built environment. Others arrive with a visual identity already perfectly suited for signage. That was the case with this LED-lit channel letter project for EMPTY CUP at 130, 15 Cooper's Town Rd in Winnipeg.

Electra Sign Ltd. fabricated and installed illuminated channel letters that carried the café’s bold branding directly into the storefront. The clean typography and recognizable circular logo translated naturally into dimensional signage, creating strong readability both during the day and after dark.

The finished installation complements the modern exterior of the space while giving the business a sharp nighttime presence along Cooper’s Town Rd. Bright white LED illumination keeps the sign highly visible without overwhelming the clean architectural aesthetic of the building.

Founded in Winnipeg in 2020, EMPTY CUP has grown from a small garage coffee roaster into a recognizable local café brand known for specialty coffee, nitro cold brew, and community-focused experiences. Their emphasis on creativity, connection, and quality made this project a great fit for a clean, minimal signage approach.

Projects like this highlight how effective branding and thoughtful fabrication work together to create signage that feels seamless with the business itself.

Customer Profile: YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg

March 27, 2026

The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg has been a cornerstone of the community for generations, providing programs and services that support health, wellness, and connection across all stages of life.

With multiple locations throughout the city, the organization offers far more than fitness facilities. From childcare and youth development programs to community outreach and newcomer support, the YMCA-YWCA plays an important role in making Winnipeg a more inclusive and accessible place to live.

Their Portage Avenue location is one of the busiest, serving a diverse mix of members, families, and community groups each day. Accessibility and visibility are key for a space like this, ensuring that people can easily find and recognize a place they rely on.

Electra Sign had the opportunity to work with the YMCA-YWCA on updated exterior signage at this location, including a large LED-lit pylon sign and illuminated building logos. The goal was to create a clean, recognizable presence that reflects the organization’s identity while remaining highly visible both day and night.

Projects like this are a reminder that signage isn’t just about branding, it’s about supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact in the community.

Built to Be a Landmark: Belle’s Kitchen + Music Hall Neon Pylon Sign

January 5, 2026

Some signs do more than identify a business — they become part of the streetscape.

The custom neon pylon sign for Belle’s Kitchen + Music Hall on Regent Avenue was designed with that goal in mind. Built to stand tall and be instantly recognizable, this sign combines classic neon craftsmanship with modern structural fabrication to create a true visual landmark.

Our team at Electra Sign Ltd. handled the project from start to finish, including design coordination, fabrication, and installation. The bold neon figure, vibrant colours, and elevated placement were all intentional — ensuring strong visibility day and night while reflecting the personality and energy of the venue itself.

Now that the sign has been up for a while, it’s become a familiar sight for locals and visitors alike. It’s a reminder that well-built signage doesn’t just mark a location — it helps define it.
